A Hemorrhoid is a relatively common ailment and affects a large number of people, all across the world. Various factors, such as constipation, old age, excess dependence on laxatives, pregnancy, as well as cancers are held responsible for causing this condition. Apart from these some relatively simple activities, such as sneezing or coughing have also been believed to lead to such a condition. As it is, some of theses causes are unavoidable, whereas some of them are avoidable. In order to get rid of this condition, it is in the best interest of the patient, to get rid of the avoidable causes.
An erratic lifestyle and too much of dependence on junk foods, are the major causes of constipation, which is a major cause of this ailment. As a matter of fact, most of the cases are caused due to constipation. This is because the person suffering from constipation often tends to stain during bowel movement. This leads to the formation of lumps in or around the anal opening; also know as hemorrhoids.
The condition is very painful and is usually accompanied by bleeding particularly during passing of stools. Hemorrhoid is nothing but enlarged tissues, around the rectal opening. There are several ways of getting rid of this condition. However, in the most advanced stages, surgery remains the only option. However, before you hit on any therapy or Hemorrhoid Treatment procedure, it is always better to consult a hemorrhoid doctor in this regard. This is because; the condition might have been caused due to reasons other than Hemorrhoids. So, if bleeding during the passing of stools is the only symptom, then in that case, it is advisable to get it confirmed from a hemorrhoid doctor, as to whether it is actually hemorrhoid, or some other medical condition.
The hemorrhoid doctor would first of all diagnose, whether the problem is actually arising out of hemorrhoids or not. For this, he or she would examine the veins around the rectum. He or she would then further administer an enema as well as clear the colon of the patient, for further examination with the help of colonoscopy and evaluate whether you are suffering from internal or external hemorrhoids.
As far as bleeding is concerned; it might be caused due to various causes, such as gastro intestinal lesions or even colon cancer. Such conditions are awfully bad, and if you are suffering from just hemorrhoids, then you should consider yourself luckier. The hemorrhoid doctor will not usually recommend a surgical option, in such a case and non surgical procedures are tried first depending upon the reaction of the body to these options, the decision is taken. In case the non surgical options fail to create a response, then in that case, Hemorrhoids Surgery remains the only option available.
