Problem Solving And Fun
March 29th, 2011 by admin
The skill of problem solving is increasingly one of the most important skills we can have. The world is a more complex place every day, demanding of us that we solve more and newer problems. For that very reason though, the reason we need to learn better problem solving, it is not always the most fun skill to develop, as we develop it under duress, so to speak. This is why I advocate the playing of video games — for everyone! It is a fun, rewarding, low-stakes method to improve problem solving skills. Really, we need to have more fun.

Avoid the hassle of trying to remember forgotten passwords.
January 26th, 2011 by admin
A lot of caution should be exercised when one is trying to create a password for their email accounts or other passwords for their phones because in as much as we need strong passwords to keep away account hackers, we should be able to remember these passwords because without them we will not be able to log in to our account or to use our phones for that matter. Passwords also require changes from time to time for the same reasons, and older passwords should be forgotten for the sake of the new ones. The advancement of technology has led to a massive production of gadgets that require passwords and user names to access to, like smart phones. The other day I found myself in a fix when i forgot my blackberry password keeper password, and I did not have a way to bypass that form of security. I may not have understood why we all needed keeper passwords for our phones but I supposed its for security reasons, in case one’s phone got stolen or for other reasons. Therefore we need to keep these passwords close to us to avoid being inconvenienced once they are forgotten. In case i forgot my password, I would want to be able to reset it as soon as possible but this may not be possible with some of the new items, therefore noting down every password you create or the one you are issued with on the day of purchase can be of so much help to you, because you will always have a backup for use when needed. The ability to remember more than ten strong passwords is next to impossible that is why you always need a backup for these passwords.

January 22nd, 2011 by admin
You will find that exams are comprised of a variety of test question styles, and while some of them look for answers which are purely factual in nature, other ones delve more into your understanding of concepts. In any case, you should be ready for a range of questioning techniques, from true/false to short essay.
Various types of questions merely require different approaches, and most test takers have one style of questioning that they’re especially powerful in. It’s in your best interest to find out what kind of questioning (i.e. multiple choice, short answer, true false) the exam will contain so that you are able to practice, especially if you come up against a style that’s not your strong point. You can get a good preview of what could be on the test by obtaining NYSTCE practice tests.
Develop a technique of approach for each type of NYSTCE question and be certain not to spend too much time on any one question.
Flashcards are great when it comes to mastering multiple choice or true/false kinds of questions, because these are purely factual in nature. It may or may not be a good thing for you to guess on your test questions, so learn about how this may influence your exam score beforehand.
Our knowledge and understanding about the subject helps in solving the complex questions like short answers, essays or reading comprehension.
If you comprehend the idea of the question but are unsure of the details, be certain to write a good conceptual answer. Demonstrating that you are familiar with the subject and may answer on it knowledgeably is valuable and will help you to score higher on your exam.
Usually questions that appear on NYSTCE tests are scored differently. Particularly, questions that demand a written response are generally weighted more heavily than true/false or multiple choice problems. As you complete the test, consider the time you are spending per problem as compared to its scoring weight, and adjust so you are able to devote more time to higher-value questions.
On the exam day, to make certain that all or as much as possible questions are answered before the time runs out, you must remember to complete the following. First read all of the questions and answer those that you instantly know the answer to. Then go through the questions again, but this time dedicate much more time to the questions you had been unable to answer the first time around.

How FTCE Questions Measure Your Knowledge of the Topic
January 22nd, 2011 by admin
Tests are essentially a group of questions which are intended to analyze a test taker’s ability and understanding of the topic. There are various questions: some questions ask about facts, but other questions deal with ideas. Also, there are various versions of questions like true or false, brief answer, essay writing, or reading comprehension.
Various kinds of questions on the exam require various kinds of responses. You will find those which will take some time to figure out, while others are faster to answer. You may find some kinds of questions more to your liking compared to others. That’s why it is necessary to find out the type of questions you might encounter on the test version you are taking so that you can practice a lot with that specific type. You can find a lot of practice in an FTCE study guide.
Develop a technique of approach for every kind of FTCE question and be certain not to spend too much time on any one question because if we give more time for 1 question then we can’t attempt all of the questions.
Flash cards are helpful when you are studying for multiple choice or true/false questions on the examination. Such questions have to do with measuring the way in which you remember details and can see which answers are incorrect. You need to investigate before the test to find out whether it’s best to guess or leave a question blank if you are uncertain, because the impact of guessing will depend on the way the test is scored.
Our knowledge and understanding about the topic helps in solving the complex questions like short answers, essays or reading comprehension.
Although you may not be certain about the appropriate particulars, you should incorporate in your answer the crucial points that may be an integral part of the materials needed in answering the question. You must display that you have the needed knowledge pertaining to any question facing you at examination time. That would certainly enhance your score whenever you encounter those specific kind of questions.
Various questions carry different marks in many FTCE exams. Short answers and complex questions carry more marks than multiple choice or true or false questions. Therefore, spend more time on short answers and complex questions so that you get more points in the accessible time.
A good tip for taking the actual exam is to go through all of the questions that you are confident about knowing first, and then go back to tackling the much more difficult ones. That way, you will have answered as many questions as you possibly can prior to the exam comes to an end.

The Approaching CSET Test
January 20th, 2011 by admin
Preparation, planning, practice and proactivity will make you be a successful test-taker. If you’re adequately prepared there is no need to dread the test.
If you get ready for the CSET test step by step, things will be extremely simple for you. First discover the materials needed on the test day and make a list of them. Then go through the study guides to review topics. Take practice tests as frequently as possible. Form and attend study groups. Plan your study sessions for the whole week, allocating enough time to complete the learning materials which you have planned for the week. Divide the entire learning material into little units manageable within a study session.
It pays to plan ahead. Know where the test site is and how you’re going to get there. Should you require a ride, ask someone if he or she will be willing to drive you there on the day of the test. If you have children and will require child care, get a babysitter scheduled prior to the test date. If you’ll have to take time off, plan that in advance as well. This way you’ll have much less tension on the day of the test.
Be sure and eat a good breakfast or lunch prior to your test. Hunger can be very distracting while attempting to concentrate. Your tester should announce when you will get breaks; if they don’t, make sure to ask him/her.
Prior to the test date, practice a lot for the examination. Go online, take the CSET practice test, or purchase a study guide. The questions on the exams might vary and range from essay to multiple choice.
Use CSET practice quizzes to determine the type of questions that you know how to answer and also the types you need to improve on, or the subjects you must review. You may also speak with friends or family members who’ve taken the examination and ask for suggestions about what to study and the best technique to get ready.
One strategy that has truly hurt those taking the test is when they cram for it. You do not want to take the exam in a hurried frame of mind because that means you won’t retain the material.
The examination demands a lot of initiatives from you, from knowing the date of test in advance, collecting the necessary study materials, drawing a schedule of your study-time, and rigorous practice prior to the actual test. A well-planned preparation, started well ahead, keeping the target marked on a calendar before you, hones your abilities to take the test with great self confidence.

Comparing Employee Scheduling Software
January 19th, 2011 by admin
In business it helps to have the right tools that will allow you to succeed. Employee scheduling software is designed to help both the employers and employees keep track of hours they have worked and to resolve any disputes about the time. In order to find the one you need you need to compare each program that is offered on the Internet.
You want to start by comparing the software program according to how easy it is to set up and use. Try to keep away from the complicated, multi-stage nonsense some programs force you to go through. It is best to use one that takes you step by step and takes minutes to work.
Look for a software that has great scheduling features and reporting tools that help to make this easy and simple for managers. Make sure it allows for quick creation, changes and viewing of the schedules that have been created and has every feature you need in order to efficiently manage schedules for everyone.
One feature that I love to use is the color coding. This is used for shift employees. Also you should have a software that lets you print schedules for single employees or entire groups.
Most of these – like the Quickbooks Time Tracker attendance software – will back up the information that is inputted and restore the data as needed. They will also give you access to the program via the Internet. That will allow you to make changes without being in the office.
