How To Determine The Salaries Of A Cosmetologist

cosmetology salaries can range quite drastically depending on several things. Cosmetologist do a number of different jobs. Some of them do all the different jobs while some only do some of the jobs. The jobs include shampooing and conditioning hair, cutting, styling, and coloring hair and even doing manicures and pedicures. There are cosmetologist that specialize in certain areas while others do them all.

When a cosmetologist starts out the money is not great but once they start to build up a clientele the money gets better. Building a clientele is very important for a cosmetologist. That clientele means they will continue to make more money. If they have clients that love the work they are doing then the clients will refer other clients to them so their clientele continues to grow.

The more the clientele grows the more money the cosmetologist makes. The salaries that a cosmetologist makes also depends on whether they work full time or half time. The area in which they work plays a large part in how much they make as well. Some times a cosmetologist may work for a large chain of hair salons, or a very popular salon, or even from home.

Cosmetologist that work in large cities make a much larger salary than someone that works in a small town. If you work in a big city you will not only have more customers but the money is better because you have bigger tippers as well. More customers plus bigger tips equals much more money.

The average salary that a cosmetologist makes starts at around twenty five thousand dollars and above. It is hard to say just how much money can be made in this field because of all the different determining factors. However there is good money to be made in doing hair.
